JoJo, our outdoor cat loves to
explore. She just recently discovered that she can get up on the lattice over
our deck. So climbs up the poles that hold it up and then lays down like a
princess on her throne. But she soon wearies on that and wants to come down –
but how?
"Can I just jump down to
the ground? Hmm... no, too far.
"Maybe if I go over here
(coming to the edge of the one lattice) I can get down on to the hot tub. Let
me see...now I just lean over a little bit and...uh...no, too far.
"Perhaps I can get into
these little holes and than I could get on the hot tub. Oh I am paying for
those treat now! If I hadn't eaten them I wouldn't be so chunky and could climb
down through the holes. Lets go
over here (walking over to the first lattice).
"Okay, this doesn't help me
either. Uh, (catching sight of us looking at her through the window) HELP! I
can't get down from here! (we continue to giggle, since we know she can get
down, and quite simply, if she would just see the tree behind her) You people
are no help! Maybe if I go over here (back to the third lattice) I could get
down.
"Let's try the hot tub
again. This time I know I will do it! Okay, just lean over (leaning back and
forth, back and forth) and I can – uh, no, I might hurt myself.
"Now I am
really stuck! HELP PLEASE!"
"I think I can make it if I go over to the
first lattice again and I could jump down into the flowers. At least that would
be a soft landing. All right, here I go. Front paws down, back paws on the
edge, and – oh no! I am losing my grip! I have to jump! Ready, one, two TH-R-EE!!!"
And down she goes
into the flowers. Phew! Time for a nap, or maybe they will let me in now. MEOW!
